As organizations continue to adapt to changing needs during a pandemic, it is important to build employee resilience and workforce readiness. Organizations adapting best to the “new norm” share one common attribute: They never stop training their workforces. [1]

Healthcare providers face real work readjustments due to COVID-19. A recent survey from the Primary Care Collaborative [2]  shared concern for the long-term impacts post COVID-19:

  • primary care systems overwhelmed by patient deferred healthcare

  • non-COVID deaths occurring due to diverted or avoided care

  • increased patient care volumes due to lack of attention to patients with chronic conditions and health maintenance needs

Patients with chronic conditions are not only more at-risk for COVID-related complications and death, but additionally compromised by avoided care. Care management, care coordination, and coaching patients to improved self-care is more important than ever. Telehealth services are promising options for patients concerned with in-person visits but who need regular follow-up.
