“Dr. Grundy has built his career as a trusted ambassador for comprehensive, coordinated patient-centered care and by serving as a voice for a variety of stakeholders to motivate health transformation,” said HealthTeamWorks’ CEO Bert Miuccio.Paul will continue to be a catalyst for national and global healthcare innovation as well as for transformation by working with our partners to improve the performance of medical practices, integrated delivery networks, and healthcare communities to provide better care, improve patient and provider experience, and to lower costs.”

As the Global Director of Healthcare Transformation at HealthTeamWorks, Dr. Grundy will play important role in motivating health transformation and will continue to focus on both domestic and international health system reform with HealthTeamWorks’ business partners. Paul will continue to engage with IBM as a HealthTeamWorks’ Business Partner, sharing in the mission to support the ongoing efforts to build transformational relationships on the both a national and a global level.

“I am truly excited to join HealthTeamWorks, a little non-profit doing big work,” Grundy stated. “Over the years, I have had the pleasure to work with several individuals at HealthTeamWorks and I look forward to continuing my work with this team to elevate primary care as foundational to health system transformation as well as concentrating my efforts on driving comprehensive, linked, and integrated healthcare at this small not-for-profit that acts and thinks big.”

Dr. Grundy will build on his success in aligning multiple collaborators to form Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC), which developed and brought validity to the medical home model approach. While the medical home was a central concept of care delivery transformation, it was predicated on the foundation of technology with security, information access, and analytics to inform population health segmentation and management. Paul will lead strategies that align with this concept and support HealthTeamWorks’ healthcare transformation initiatives, which include fostering robust primary care models and championing for patients.

Dr. Grundy will continue to serve as a director of the ACGME, the body responsible for accrediting graduate medical training programs. Paul is the founding President of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative; he was fundamental in creating it in early 2006 and is still active in its work. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Utah Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and University of California San Francisco Department of Family and Community Medicine.
