Roundtable Discussion: Elevating the Role of the Medical Assistant

The advent of Alternative Payment Models has accelerated the demand for practices to improve care delivery and associated outcomes. This requires a highly skilled team working collaboratively and at the top of their license. The role of the Medical Assistant (MA) can be a key contributor to elevating the performance of the entire team.

Although often underutilized, MA's are a valuable and adaptable resource within the practice. When provided the opportunity to grow and develop new skill sets, they can perform an array of services allowing other team members to focus on those services restricted by more advanced training and licensure. 

During this session we are discussing practical strategies to elevate the role of the Medical Assistant and mitigate the challenges and potential barriers to progress.
